Privacy Policy

Last updated 23 June 2026 Early access — subject to change

Early access — subject to change. Bablio is in a very early stage and has not launched publicly. These documents describe our practices for our early-access rollout. The app, its features, and the services it relies on may change, and we will keep refining and updating these documents as Bablio grows.

1. Who we are, and your agreement

Bablio is an AI-powered companion for parents during their baby's early years. In this policy, "Bablio," "we," "us," and "our" mean the team that operates Bablio, and "you" means the parent or guardian using the app.

By using Bablio, you agree to this Privacy Policy and to our Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use Bablio. Because we're still very new, this policy will keep changing and being refined as Bablio grows.

Questions or privacy requests? Email us at bablio.app@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

2a. Information you give us, about you (the parent)

When you create an account, you sign in using one of the options Bablio offers, for example your Google or Apple account, or your phone number. Depending on the option you choose, we receive your email address and basic profile (such as your name and profile photo), or your phone number. We use this only to create and secure your account. We don't set or store a password, and we don't ask for your home address or payment details.

2b. Information you give us, about your child

This is information you choose to enter about your baby so your companion can understand and care for them. It includes:

  • Basic details such as your baby's name, date of birth, and sex.
  • A little about their start and stage, such as whether they were born on time or early (and if early, by roughly how many weeks) and their current feeding stage.
  • Optionally, your baby's weight, and any allergies or conditions you'd like Bablio to keep in mind.
  • Photos or videos you choose to add as milestones.
  • The messages you type into Bablio's chat.

Some of this, such as your baby's weight or any conditions you choose to share, is health-related, so we treat it with the care it deserves. We ask only for what a feature genuinely needs, and use it only to help your companion understand your baby. Several of these fields are optional, and what you share is always your choice.

2c. Information collected automatically

  • Approximate device location, used only at the moment you use a feature that helps you find places nearby. Bablio uses it to open your maps app (such as Google Maps or Apple Maps) with a relevant search. We don't store your location. Once your maps app opens, that provider's terms apply.
  • Basic technical information needed to run the app and deliver replies (for example, the network requests and error logs our systems generate).

We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking tools.

2d. Information from third parties

If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your basic account profile (such as email and name) from that provider to set up your account.

2e. If you join our waitlist

When you join the waitlist on our website, you share your name, your email, and a short note about what you need most. We use it only to hold your place, and to let you know, gently, when your spot is ready. We never use it for advertising, and we never sell or share it. There's no need to include any health details in that note, and you're welcome to ask us to take you off the list at any time by writing to bablio.app@gmail.com.

3. How we use your information, and our legal basis

We use your information only to provide and improve Bablio for you:

What we use it for Legal basis (India/EU framing)
Create and secure your account Performance of our agreement with you (the Terms)
Provide the app's features to you Performance of our agreement with you
Generate AI replies tailored to your baby Your consent, and for your child's health data, your explicit consent
Open your maps app to help you find places nearby Your consent
Send you reminders and notifications Performance of our agreement with you
Let you share access with a co-parent or caregiver (when sharing becomes available) Your consent
Keep the service working and safe, and answer your requests Our legitimate interest in a reliable, secure service

We do not use your data for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell or "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. How AI is used

Bablio uses artificial intelligence to power its chat companion. When you send a message, we send that message, your recent chat history, and your baby's details to a third-party AI provider so it can generate a reply. We may use different AI providers over time, so we describe them by category rather than naming one.

We do not use your data to train our own models, and we choose AI providers that state they do not use your content to train their models. If we learn that a provider is doing otherwise, we'll take steps to address it, including switching providers. We can't fully control how third parties behave, but we keep this front of mind.

AI replies are not medical advice. They're generated automatically and can be wrong. See the medical and AI disclaimers in the Terms of Service. In an emergency, contact a doctor or your local emergency services. Never rely on Bablio.

5. How we share information

We don't sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that make Bablio work, and only as needed:

  • Our cloud and backend providers: we use trusted third-party cloud infrastructure to store your account and your baby's data and to run the app. They process it on our behalf.
  • Third-party AI provider(s): as described in Section 4, to generate chat replies.
  • Sign-in providers (Google / Apple): to authenticate you when you sign in.
  • Your maps app (Google Maps / Apple Maps): when you use a feature that helps you find places nearby, your search opens in your maps app, where that provider's terms then apply.
  • Your own Google Drive (only if you choose): if you turn on photo backup, your selected photos and videos go to your own Google Drive, using a permission limited to the files Bablio creates. We don't hold these on our servers; removing an item also removes its backup.
  • Legal reasons: if required by law, or to protect the safety of users.

We do not share your or your child's data with advertisers or data brokers, or for any targeted-advertising purpose.

6. Children's data and parental consent

Bablio is built around information about an infant, so protecting children's data is central to how we work.

  • Bablio is for parents and guardians, not for children to use. You must be an adult (18+) using Bablio on behalf of your own child. When you set up your baby's profile, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of that child, that the information you provide is about your child, and that you consent to us processing it (including the health information) to provide Bablio's features.
  • Data minimization. We ask only for what a feature needs, and several health details are optional.
  • No advertising to children. We never use a child's data for advertising, and we don't let our providers use it to target advertising.
  • Parent controls and deletion. You can review and edit your baby's information in the app, and you can ask us to delete your child's data at any time by emailing bablio.app@gmail.com (see Section 8). We confirm requests come from the account holder before acting.

7. Storage and security

  • Where it's stored. Your account and baby data are currently stored on servers in India. As Bablio grows we may use providers or servers in other countries (see Section 10). This may change, and we'll update this policy.
  • Encryption. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our cloud provider's standard protections.
  • Access control. Your data is accessible only to you (the signed-in account owner) and, when sharing becomes available, any co-parent or caregiver you invite. No other user can access it.
  • On your device. Some data (such as cached photos and an index) is kept on your device. Photos you pick stay in your device's gallery.
  • Honest scope. Beyond the protections above, we don't currently add extra app-level encryption, and we don't use third-party analytics or crash-reporting tools.

8. Keeping and deleting your data

  • How long we keep it. We keep your account and your baby's data while your account is active. If your account is inactive for 12 months, we may delete it and the associated data. You can ask us to delete sooner at any time.
  • What you can do in the app today. You can edit your baby's information and delete individual entries you've added (which also removes any backup of those items).
  • Deleting your account and everything else. There isn't yet an in-app button to delete your whole account, your chat history, or your baby's profile. To delete your account and its data, email bablio.app@gmail.com and we'll delete it. We're working on an in-app option.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under India's DPDP Act, the EU/UK GDPR, or California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to:

  • Access the information we hold about you and your child.
  • Correct inaccurate information (you can edit much of it directly in the app).
  • Delete your information.
  • Withdraw consent at any time (for example, stop using the chat or ask us to stop processing health data, though some features won't work without it).
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, and request a portable copy of your data.
  • For California residents: the rights to know, delete, and correct, and to opt out of any sale or sharing, although we do not sell or share your data, and never that of anyone under 16.

To exercise any of these, email bablio.app@gmail.com. We'll verify your request comes from the account holder and respond within the time your local law requires. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority.

10. International data transfers

Some of our service providers may process your data on servers outside your country. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer for cross-border transfers. As Bablio expands beyond India, we'll update this section accordingly.

11. Early-access note: things will change

Bablio is in early access and is still being built. The features we offer, the data we collect, and the providers we rely on are not final and will change. When we make a material change, we'll update this policy and, where appropriate, let you know in the app or by the contact details you gave us.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use Bablio after an update means you accept the revised policy.
